I had the old masuri helmet for a very long one and wasn't too sure what the new design would be like. I think that this new design is actually more comfortable than the old style and the smaller gap between the grill and the helmet mean that I am able to be more confident when playing short balls. This is because I know that the ball will not fit through the gap. Also there has been concern about the weight of the helmet but I feel that as the helmet is a better fit then it actually feels lighter. I had the old style masuri helmet for many years and when I was looking for a new one I went for this style and I am very pleased. There were worries about the weight of the helmet but even without the titanium grill this helmet isn't heavy at all. Also I feel that this helmet it actually comfort than the old style masuri and this actually makes the helmet feel lighter because of it fitting better to your head. Also one of the main differences is the small gap between the grill and the lid.
